Tumalog waterfalls, Oslob Cebu

For the lack of things to do here in Oslob, we were ready to jump from a cliff if we find one.  The guys from the resort told us about a waterfalls 5 killometers where we are, so we thought of checking it out.

After touring the Church and ruins, we drove back to the resort and on the way back we saw a sign that reads Tumalog waterfalls. Getting there was easy, there were not so many people too, so it was great.  The road was in very good condition, newly cemented, you can make out that the local government really took care of it. There is a car parking area just as you take the turn from the mainroad. There are locals that looks after the car, ofcourse for a minimal fee.

We walk down, what seems like a very steep downhill road, under the blazing sun. It was really hot that I was so ready to dive into the waterfalls.  There were a few people on motorbike offering us to take a ride for 20 pesos (50 cents US) each person. But what the hell, we continued walking and cursing at the sun at the same time and pretending we know where we were going, we were pretty sure there were signs on the road, but we were wrong. Everyone else were covering themselves and we were crazy walking like it was a normal day. Actually it was really hot.

As we were walking downhill we already made up our minds to go by motorbike on the way back.  Yeah it was really steep.  There were no signs on the road, we figured we arrived when the motorbikes that carried some tourists stopped and pointed people where to go, so we just followed them. When we got into a footpath, we could already feel the mist of the water and we can already hear the water movements.

When we reached the waterfalls, we were fascinated with it.  It was really beautiful but on the other hand we were disappointed that there was no area to be able to swim like how it was in kawasan falls in Badian. But we made the most of it so we enjoyed sitting by a rock and feel the mist of the water on our faces while the sun was shining daggers at best.  We didn’t stay long, so we had to find somewhere else to spend the remaining of the day in Oslob.
