Mobile Internet in the Philippines

It is easy to get a mobile internet, there are 2 networks that provides mobile internet.  Globe and Smart.  If you come from other countries you can opt to roam with your sim from your home country however this is very expensive. I tried it once and when you get the bill, you will most likely get a heart attack.  So try to avoid that.  You can have the option of buying a prepaid broadband simcard which costaround P50 (1.11 USD) and this will allow you to have a mobile internet with your phone or tab.  And if your phone or tab is capable of tethering, then you can have wifi hotspot for your other devices including your laptop.

Both networks advertised unlimited mobile internet for P50 (1.11 USD) a day. Cheap right? Ok it is cheap but one might think you can download you tube all day.  You are wrong.  This unlimited mobile internet limits you to a certain download capacity.  Globe allows you 1GB while Smart allows you 1.5GB.

If you are travelling to remote locations, I suggest that you get both simcards.  There are places in the Philippines that either only one of the two networks work.  So in case you go there, you can switch between simcards, trust it is very wise to get both, coz even in some parts of the city I experienced on and off signals for both.  If you stay longer in the Philippines then it is good to get the monthly prepaid package that both networks offer - P999 (22USD) for a month.

Finding a hairdresser

Why is it so hard to find a new hairdresser?  When one moves to a new place, how hard is it to find a new hairdresser?  Someone that you can just trust the styling of your hair, whether you need a treatment or a cut or just a blow dry or even just a wash.

Often times, I want to walk in to just any hair salon but then I get scared what will happen to my hair.  I have very thin hair strands, my friends call it 50 leaves.  It’s like a book with just 50 pages, that’s how they refer it.  I often envy those with dark thick hair.  I guess we always want what we don’t have.  So, I ensure I take extra care of my hair.

In my quest of taking care of it I met a hairdresser that became my good friend I could just trust him to do whatever with it.  But then moving to a new place? I find it hard to trust anyone with my hair.  I think I’m going nuts!

But does anyone feel this way too? Just curious. Well there are many salon in town, its just that there are very few hairdresser that really knows how to make magic with the scissor.
