Aaron Beach Resort Oslob, Cebu

sign board on the roadside

We came across this resort from the sign board just by the road side, actually just outside the resort.  We came without reservations so, It was a good idea to arrive before sundown at least we are able to find a place to stay overnight before it gotten dark.

The resort has very limited available rooms and we were very happy that they still have available for us.  We were told that most tourists usually doesnt stay overnight, most visit early morning and leave in the afternoon, so they dont really need a room to sleep, except those that are coming over on a backpack without reservations. I started thinking they were referring to us.

This resort is slightly better than the one in Badian. The room was a little smaller, although in a way it is similar coz the activities are limited to the beach and rooms, however we thought this resort is better since they offer an option of scuba diving.  Not bad for a very small resort. Actually we aren’t even sure if we can call this a resort, it is more like a vacation house with extra rooms.

Apparently it is owned by a couple, the guy is Australian and the wife is a native from Oslob.  They settled down in Australia hence leaving the house to the wifes family who converted it into a resort. It is just by the beach and along the mainroad so the location is really ideal. And about a few meters from the shore, is the whaleshark watching site.

Like anywhere else we been so far, the people here are very friendly and they didn’t mind that we cook our own food if we are up to it, but we are too lazy to do it.  They have a simple plastic laminated menu and they can cook for us whatever we want, if its not on the menu.  I think it’s convenient and really felt homey.

This place is cheap too, it’s only P800 (18USD) per room per night and its airconditioned, the only thing is that there is no internet connection and even mobile phone signal was on and off. But still it was a great bargain.
