What comes to your mind when you hear the word shark? You would probably think it is a dangerous fish, or you would think about the JAWS, a movie by Steven Spielberg. Or perhaps the shark attacks that you hear once in a blue moon – it makes headlines. When I hear the word shark? My brain would automatically ask where?
Do you know that there are about 400+ species of sharks? And from the 400+ there are only 4 that are known to be aggressive and are the culprits for the shark attacks – the great white, bull sharks, tiger sharks and the oceanic white tip. Apart from this 4 most sharks are harmless but like any species, they can be aggressive if threatened.
I heard a heart breaking news today that authorities apprehended some thresher shark meat being transported to sell in the city to fishball companies, no wonder those beautiful graceful creatures are endangered now.
Do you know that shark kills 5 people per year but 8,000 sharks are killed per hour? You do the maths and let’s see who are more scary.
